Domaine D‘Ardhuy Corton Pougets Grand Cru

Corton Grand Cru AOC - France

Varietal Composition

100% Pinot Noir

Fermentation Method

The grapes are hand-picked, then sorted, crushed, and completely destemmed. The fermentation is started rapidly with no prefermentation maceration. Aromas, tannins, and colour are extracted naturally (no enzyme addition, no forced heat extraction) only through punching of the cap. Vatting time is 12 to 14 days. The free-run wine and the first press are blended, allowed to settle, and placed in barrels. The Corton « Pougets » is matured in oak barrels - 50% of which is new oak - from forests in the department of Allier and Nevers. Maturation lasts from 12 to 15 months; the wine is then bottled with a very slight filtering and without fining.

Tasting Notes

A concentrated coloration of deep red with purple highlights precedes.

Intense aroma of black fruits (blackberries, blackcurrants, and black cherries), with well-integrated notes of grilled wood.

On palate this wine is powerful and voluminous, with melted tannins and remarkable length.
